Review: Milestone's is kind of a pub-style-westcoast-casual-intimate-trendy-steakhouse-bistro-type place. The menu is varied, the service is attentive but fake. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, but you can never quite escape the corporate chain-restaurant atmosphere. The view of the inner harbour and parliament buildings is nice, though. Milestone's is a great place for office goodbye luncheons (get to know your co-workers by cramming a dozen or so into one of the big booths).

The lunch menu includes lots of trendy-but-hearty dishes. Some of the appetizers are brilliant (try the roasted garlic or the chips and salsa) and many of the main dishes are impressive-looking. The food tastes good, but never quite as good as it looks (roasted garlic excepted). For dessert (or even as a main course), I insist you try the ganache torte. It is a masterpiece.
