Michael Korican, BFA
Son of a war refugee and raised on three continents, I'm an indie filmmaker currently based in Saanich, BC, Canada. I am a steadfast humanist and romantic who met my wife on set. In addition to over 60 self-produced short films, my company Obscure Film Productions Inc. produced two short films for Bravo!FACT: 'Scratch' by Scott Amos and my own 'i luv spam'. Thanks to the Famous Players Scholarship, I graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Production with Special Honours. The Rolling Stone Book of Rock Video called my micro-budget feature 'Recorded: Live!' "the first film about rock video." I blog about the mediascape weekly at informediation.com and co-produce and audio edit "Push In, the CineVic Podcast".
I have written, produced, directed, animated and edited dozens of animation, documentary and narrative film and video projects. See my filmography (sorted by Category or Medium).
I have also created music under the anagramic pseudonym Airlock Machine. See my selected discography.
